DYLAN – high retail visibility, low media profile

DYLAN, the new compilation CD, is very visible on my High Street – even Morrison’s, the local supermarket with the smallest CD range (but some of the tastiest prices – eg Traveling Wilburys intermittently at £10), were selling the single CD version today, at £9.77, prominently displayed as album of the week or some such.

As I, like most Dylan Daily readers, already have the songs on the compilation several times over, I chose to pass on DYLAN at Morrison’s, buying instead The Very Best Of Mick Jagger CD/DVD. It’s a wonderful package – review to follow on The Dylan Daily’s sister web site, Music for Grown-Ups:

But I’ve come across surprisingly little media coverage for the new Dylan compilation – limited press, and not much space devoted to the release, even when covered.
