House of the Risin’ Sun - Europe tour news (19)

Just in case any Dylan Daily reader missed Bobby’s wry humour by slipping House of the Risin’ Sun into the Euro tour set list in Newcastle last night…

Newcastle (upon Tyne), the handsome, most northerly of English cities, was the home of The Animals, the English Invasion band who had a massive hit single with the song, after Dylan had featured it on his eponymous debut album.

Good to see Uncle Bob paying homage to England’s second best ‘60s band. (The Rolling Stones, not The Searchers, if you were wondering!)
